In the summer of 2021, Jean-Louis began writing the sequel to An Angel Named Gabriel, with the aim of completing the book by the autumn of 2022. Unfortunately, health problems and various other reasons caused considerable delays in the project. However, by the autumn of 2023, the work was back on track and completed in September 2024. The book is originally written in Norwegian and will eventually be translated into English. It bears the tentative Norwegian title Selma. The protagonist remains the same as before, nature photographer Gabriel Dahl, who once again stumbles upon an abused and neglected girl. Tragically, this time she is dead, and Gabriel has taken it upon himself to uncover the truth behind her demise.

The book is currently being considered by a number of publishers, and will be self-published if no publisher wants to publish it.
